invites you to attend the 5th Annual MAPEA Research Symposium

The proposal deadline has passed, but we invite you to attend any or all of the sessions:

Held in Erickson Hall, home of the College of Education, Michigan State University
Thursday, March 10, 2011 12:00p.m. to 5:00p.m.

Have you been working on a research paper to publish or present at an upcoming conference?
Are you nearing the end of your dissertation writing stage?
Maybe you have a particularly interesting research paper from a class you have taken.

The symposium is an important and valuable opportunity to share your work with people
who are interested in what you have to say and what you have discovered.
MAPEA is interested in a full range of topics related to education,
such as administration, instruction, or educational policy issues.

You can participate in the symposium in several ways:

Presentations: For those interested in formal 15 minute presentations of completed work.
Given by individuals or groups, presentations include research findings, literature reviews or class projects.

Roundtables: For those interested in an informal discussion of works in progress to a small group.

Poster presentations: For those interested in presenting a completed or work in progress in an informal discussion to individuals.

Attend the keynote speech

Register to become session chair

You are welcome to attend or participate in any of the sessions for the day.
Last year's symposium included presentations on college and K-12 students,
public and charter schools, as well as global and local issues in schooling.
Research papers and action research projects are suitable for the symposium and may be presented by individual, pairs, or a group of presenters.
Roundtables are very helpful for students who have works in progress and would like feedback on their ideas.

No matter where you are in your project, consider submitting an abstract to present your work
at this year's MAPEA Research Symposium. Even if you are not interested in presenting, participate by registering to become a session chair.
