2. KIPP schools opportunities
Recently, the K-12 Unit was contact by a KIPP recruiter, Maggie Mangan. KIPP schools are very distinctive charter schools serving urban areas. They are extremely interested in having our MSU graduates apply to either teach or lead in their schools.
There are two leadership fellowships. The Miles Fellowship is the first part of a two-year pathway to leadership in KIPP schools. Miles Fellows teach in a KIPP school and take leadership from the teacher position. They receive customized professional development, individual coaching, and observations. Miles Fellows prepare to become Fisher Fellows.
The Fisher Fellowship is a one year program that will prepare Fellows to found and lead a new KIPP school in a targeted, high-need community. Fisher Fellows receive intensive summer coursework, residencies at KIPP schools, and individual coaching.
Attached, you will find a brochure about these leadership opportunities in pdf for your ease in distribution. Please pass this information along! These are great jobs for young leaders with get up and go!
As it happens, two of our faculty,
Dr. Susan Printy
Dr. Barbara Markle

KIPP will host two webinars about these opportunities.
